The STAR program offers three certificate opportunities. Participants who complete the certificate requirements demonstrate that they have a comprehensive understanding of the track they have completed. Required Courses:

Elective Requirements: Trainees must complete a minimum of 8 electives with a minimum of 18 course credit hours. Eligible electives are from any of the STAR, PA, AW, PO, PR, RT tracks.

Total credit hours required: 40

Elective Requirements: Trainees must complete a minimum of 5 electives with a minimum of 11 course credit hours. Eligible electives must indicate they apply for the PA track.

This track is for individuals within research administration whose primary job function is to perform post-award activities, such as project management and reporting. Procurement Track

This track is for Purchasing Assistants and other procurement positions that do not administer grants but must process these transactions on sponsored funds.  Courses for this topic have the PO Track indicator.

Payroll Track

This track is for Payroll Assistants and other payroll positions that do not administer grants but set up sourcing transactions on sponsored funds.  Courses for this topic have the PR Track indicator.

Reporting Track

This track is for individuals that create reports on sponsored funds.  Courses for this topic have the RT Track indicator.
