Glenda Bullock

Glenda Bullock serves as the Senior Director of Research Administration for the Department of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine. In this role, she oversees the comprehensive management of the research enterprise across 16 divisions. Her responsibilities include strategic and space planning, personnel management, and the administration of research and training grants, contracts, and federally funded clinical studies. She manages a team of over 65 staff members and oversees all aspects of proposal submission, award maintenance, and award closeout processes.

Before joining the Department of Medicine, Glenda spent six years as the Contracts & Grants Manager in the Research Office, where she gained extensive experience in research administration. Her career began as the Research Services Coordinator at the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology), where she worked closely with faculty and administrative offices on proposal submissions, award acceptances, and contract negotiations.

Glenda’s broad expertise in research administration, from both central and departmental perspectives, is a cornerstone of her ability to train new administrators and to develop and implement effective policies and procedures. She has delivered numerous presentations and workshops on topics including training grant management, allowable charges on research grants, enhancing departmental and central office communications, and establishing quality metrics.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Glenda enjoys crafting and spending quality time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
