ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION - MCKELVEY SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

Christine Tilley has been at Washington University since 1998 and is a Senior Research Administrator in the Office for Research Development & Administration in the McKelvey School of Engineering since November 2021. Prior to joining the McKelvey School of Engineering Dean’s Office, Christine worked for the Department of Energy, Environmental and Chemical Engineering for 6 years as a Senior Department Administrator, Department of Physics for 15 years as the Grants and Accounting Supervisor and Sponsored Projects Accounting for 2 years as a Government Grants Specialist and Proposal/Profile Sr. Specialist. In her current role, she is responsible for pre-award administration which includes proposal submissions to NSF, DOE, NASA, NIH, USDA, EPA, Department of Education, various Department of Defense agencies as well as foundations. In both her departmental roles, she was responsible for both pre- and post-award administration. She has served on several university committees which include Faculty Financial Reporting; Uniform Guidance Subrecipient Risk Assessment Task Force; PAAMCO; RMS Super Users; and is currently the Danforth Chair of the STAR Advisory Committee. Christine is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and Management. In her spare time, Christine enjoys amusement parks, traveling and spending time with her family.
